From this experiment, water chromatography is used to separate the substances that are present in grape-flavored Kool-AidВ®. Initial, the dyes responsible for the purple color, FD& C Blue #1 and Crimson #40 are separated. Then simply, in a second experiment, the other pieces of Kool-AidВ®, the flavorings and citric chemical p, are segregated as well.

Chromatography is a crucial analytical application used to distinct the components of your mixture. This experiment utilizes a type of chromatography referred to as reverse stage liquid chromatography (RPC).
