Prisoners legal rights have come a long way from the actual were in the 1800's, criminals back then got no rights they were mistreated and roughed up and the penitentiary officials did whatever they will wanted to prisoners and they experienced no state. During the 1800's prisoners were kept in unsatisfactory conditions that were soiled, unsafe, falling apart and underfed they were offering small helpings of loaf of bread, it looked as they were being teased while using food. There punishments were harsh and unruly, they were beaten to death and there was no person to blame for it or end up being punished the moment things like that happened. The moment prisons begun to change, the rights of prisoners began to develop making this an important step for them, prisoners were about to find progress for in favor of them. Prisoners were about to notice that they were never to be treated unfairly simply because they are in prison, nonetheless they had rules they had to follow along with in addition to being more involved in their particular court case. As an example most suitable option sue prisons for harm against all of them or sign up for appeals when in prison (Foster, 2006).
