ROLE AND PURPOSE
This subject contributes to the achievement of the BBA (Hons) Programme Final results by providing learners with a chance to understand administration functions, group and person dynamics within just organizations and apply such concepts to assess and solve problems in operation situations. This issue also supplies students with knowledge and skills in leadership, team-work, and making decisions. In addition , it prepares pupils to analyze and resolve moral issues in a variety of business options.
Upon completing the subject, college students will be able to:
be familiar with nature of managerial operate a variety of types of organizations, and analyze the effect of the exterior environments, both domestic and global, in managers' careers. understand the functions of management in companies, i. elizabeth., planning, managing, leading, and controlling. apply an understanding of human habit in teamwork, leadership, and decision making and evaluate their very own implications for the managing of organizations. comprehend the arguments encircling social responsibility and moral behavior in organizations and businesses.
The two-hour each week lecture will be structured to guide and showcase students' knowledge of relevant managing and firm concepts. During these lectures, I will only emphasize some of the important messages in the textbook plus the reading elements. In other words Let me not repeat what is previously in the textbook, but give attention to issues, suggestions, and hypotheses beyond the textbook. In order to understand the concerns discussed inside the lectures, it is important for students to see carefully the required reading elements before every single lecture.
In addition , you will have one tutorial of one hour per week. The tutorials can adopt a student-centred way, using case studies, in-class exercises, paper and specialist articles to get discussion and team-presentation.

Learners can login Blackboard to reach the website using their PolyU NetID and pass word. They may down load course material (via Course Content and Related Materials > Content Module) and submit assignments throughout the website. Additionally , it also provides Mail and Discussion Board establishments (accessible through the menu on the left hand side of the webpage).
